Also why don't you reccomend Qatar? On the surface it seems like Dubai, they are probably trying to pass it as another Dubai, this is why they wanted to host the world cup in 2022, they wanted to show Qatar to the world. Seemed a nice looking place but they probably have stricter laws than Dubai and that's why we shouldn't live there, right?
1. UAE probably partially supports the RSF, which is not great. Now you need to ask yourself what the government of your current country you are currently living in, what are they doing around the world? How much death and destruction are they causing? Then compare it to that. I'm from the USA so the comparison wasn't even close; the fucking USA kills way more people in a typical 5-year period by orders of magnitude than the UAE.
2. It is much more difficult to get residency in Qatar than in the UAE. Qatar is also up to more shenanigans on the world stage than the UAE. Qatar is also not long-term proven like the UAE is. So for those three reasons, I still recommend the UAE over Qatar for most people at this time.
But years down the road, this could change. We'll have to see.
